What’s your ‘AI persona’? 5 working types

A new report from Slack reveals that while AI usage is increasing in urgency among leaders, over two-thirds of workers have never used AI at work. The report identifies five distinct "AI personas" and suggests strategies for engaging each group to boost AI adoption. Click here for article.

  • AI Personas: Workers are categorized into five personas—Maximalists, Underground, Rebels, Superfans, and Observers—each with distinct attitudes and behaviors toward AI use.

  • Maximalists: About 30% of workers, mostly young men, are enthusiastic about AI and frequently use and promote it. Employers should support and amplify their AI usage.

  • Underground: Approximately 20% use AI secretly, often due to a lack of company encouragement or guidance. Employers should recognize and address this covert usage.

  • Rebels: Making up 19% of the workforce, this group largely avoids AI and views it negatively. Efforts should be made to address their concerns and show AI as a productivity tool.

  • Superfans and Observers: Superfans (16%) are eager about AI but lack involvement, while Observers (16%) are indifferent but open to learning. Training and visibility are key to engaging both groups.
