I’m Bill Hammett, Owner and President of Hammett Health Insurance Services.

“In the early days of the Affordable Care Act, there was so much confusion about what it meant to our organization, our staff and our finances. Bill guided us through the intricacies even as the information changed daily.”
- Nancy Diamond, Vice President, Building Industry Association of San Diego

As a Certified Healthcare Reform Specialist (CHRS), I identify insurance strategies within the confines of the Affordable Care Act that help you – and your employees – succeed.

I had the honor of serving as President of the San Diego Association of Health Underwriters (SDAHU).

During this time I met with senators and congress members in D.C. and Sacramento as well as San Diego leaders to discuss the current and future state of healthcare.

These experiences sparked my passion for the politics of healthcare. Now I pass this insight along to my clients.

Preparation determines success. And when my clients know what's coming, they’re able to meet every deadline and requirement with confidence.

Going above and beyond

In 2017, I was recognized for my work in the health insurance business market with the prestigious Neil R. Crosby Achievement in Excellence Award.

This honor is reserved for those who exemplify service and dedication, which I’m proud to say are the hallmarks of Hammett Health.

Born and raised in San Diego, I’m a graduate of SDSU, where I played football (Go Aztecs!). My dad also played at SDSU under the legendary Don “Air” Coryell.

I began my career at Blue Shield of CA as Regional Sales Manager and then as National Sales Manager at HMG Benefits, helping brokers secure health insurance for employers with lower-income employees.

A few more things about me: I love San Diego State Athletics and am obsessed with shoes – retro Air Jordans to be precise. I’ve owned just under 500 pairs; but not all at once.

When I’m not tracking down the best health plans for my clients, you’ll find me enjoying time with my beautiful wife Kate and our wonderfully blended family.

"Hammett Health is hands-on throughout the annual enrollment process, and they liaison with service providers to address issues that may come up. Their personalized services are impressive: they offer private consultations to our employees – many of whom take advantage of this opportunity to confer with a specialist. And they’re extremely responsive to voice and email messages – same day service!"
