Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and the National Healthcare Group (NHG) have launched the Centre of AI in Medicine (C-AIM) to advance the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into healthcare. Spearheaded by NTU's Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, the center focuses on research in mental health, elderly frailty, medical imaging, and cancer screening. The center aims to drive AI integration into healthcare by addressing clinical relevance, ethical considerations, and healthcare costs.
It brings together over 100 researchers and clinicians, along with international partners like Yale School of Medicine and Olympus.
AI simulation and implementation studies will be conducted to rigorously test AI tools before deployment in real-world settings.
